10 must-haves pieces of Baking
Confused about buying the basic baking equipment/peices while planning to bake for your family & friends? We have got your back! Here is the special curated list of must-haves baking equipments.
- Baking Tins
There are many tins available on Bakerswish of all shapes, sizes and materials. We prefer heavy-duty, silver-coloured tins. Dark-coloured silicone bakeware has a tendency to absorb heat and make the sides of the cake dark. You can experiment with all the shapes for making some awesome cakes.

2. Cooling Rack
This is an essential piece of equipment for helping air to circulate around your freshly-baked cake or biscuits, avoiding sogginess.

- Cutters
A selection of metal cutters allow you to create simple but effective cake decorations and fun biscuit shapes.

- Silicone Baking Mats
Parchment paper is great and all, but why not bake and cook with something reusable? And something that lays flat on the cookie sheet!! Every single vegetable I roast and cookie I bake is on top of a silicone baking mat. Use them as an easy nonstick surface for pouring out my toffee or brittle to cool, after I dip candies and truffles (they release SO easily!), for rolling out cinnamon roll dough, pie dough, pizza dough, and more. The bottoms of my cookies are always evenly baked and they slide right off the mat. Cleaning is a breeze since they’re dishwasher friendly. Hand-washing just takes a little scrub to rub off grease or residue.

- Dredger/ Shaker
A dredger is useful for lightly dusting surfaces with flour or icing sugar when rolling out doughs or icing. However a tea strainer or sieve can perform the same function perfectly well.

- Food Mixer
A food mixer is not essential for cake-making but it does save time and minimise effort. It’s a good to have tool.

- Rimmed Baking Sheets
Rimmed Baking Sheets. Also, known as jelly-roll pans, rimmed baking sheets have rolled edges, which make them ideal for bar cookies or short bread. They are best when made from heavy-duty, shiny aluminium for even baking.

- Scrapers
A total necessity any time you’re doing anything involving any kind of kneading on the counter, cutting dough, etc.

- Spatulas
They make icing cakes so much easier and more beautiful.

- Silicone liners and pans
Silicone liners and pans are where it’s at for easy, no-mess cupcakes and muffins. Reusable and muffins slide right out. If you want to go one step further you can also get a full silicone muffin pan (easier to clean).

What baking pieces do you rely on? We'd like to hear your product suggestions. These tools are the brands of kitchen tools that I trust and encourage you to use in the kitchen as well to bake & make your loved ones Happier!
